How to recall Contact List data in your questions

You can show a respondent's details from your Contact List, like their first name or company, inside a question or its description. This works in team workspaces on the Team and Enterprise plans.

Step 1: Open your survey in the builder.

Step 2: Click in the question title or description and type @. You can also click the Recall button under the editor.

Step 3: Scroll down the dropdown to Contact Lists. You'll see each list in your workspace with its number of contacts.

Step 4: Click a list to expand it and see its columns. Click it again to collapse it.

Step 5: Click the column you want to show, for example First Name. BlockSurvey adds it to your text as a recall tag.

Step 6: Look at the Preview on the right. It fills in the value from the first contact in that list.

Step 7: Send the survey through an Email Campaign to the same Contact List. Each respondent sees their own value.

When you pick a column, BlockSurvey creates an Audience List Lookup for that list, named after the list. You can find it under Settings > Audience List Lookup. More columns from the same list go into the same lookup.

Note: Values fill in only for respondents who open the survey from a campaign sent to that list. Anyone else sees a blank. The data is only displayed and isn't saved in the responses. If your plan doesn't include this feature, the Contact Lists section shows an Upgrade option instead of your lists.
