How to create a Campaign

The Campaign feature in BlockSurvey enables you to send targeted messages to your audience directly from your TeamSpace through Email or Text (SMS). You can create campaigns, draft and test messages, schedule delivery and track their performance from one place.

Pre-requisite:

Before creating a campaign, ensure you have completed the following:

  1. Create a Contact List: An audience list is required to send messages. For Text campaigns, your list must include a phone number column with valid E.164 format numbers (e.g., +12025551234). Follow the guide here to create a Contact List.

  2. Configure Sender Settings: Email campaigns: Set up your sender email address under Campaign Settings. Follow the guide here to set up Email configuration.
Text campaigns: Ensure a sender phone number is configured under Campaign Settings.

Channel Types

When creating a campaign, choose the communication channel based on how you want to reach your audience.

Email Campaign

Send targeted emails to your audience using either Bulk or Drip campaigns.

Bulk Campaign: A single email sent to a large audience at the same time.

Best used for:

  • Promotions

  • Product announcements

  • Newsletters

  • Event invitations

You can schedule bulk campaigns for a specific date and time. Read more.

Drip Campaign: An automated sequence of emails sent over time based on a schedule or workflow. Read more.

Best used for:

  • User onboarding

  • Lead nurturing

  • Follow-up sequences

Text Campaign (SMS)

Send targeted SMS messages directly to your audience's phones. Supports Bulk campaigns.

Bulk Campaign: A single SMS message sent to multiple recipients simultaneously, with personalized survey links for each recipient. You can also configure follow-up steps to re-engage recipients who have not interacted with the campaign.

Key features of Text campaigns:

  • Survey Link Tracking: Enable tracking to monitor link clicks. Links are shortened per recipient for engagement measurement.

  • Quiet Hours Enforcement: BlockSurvey automatically respects TCPA quiet hours (8 AM–9 PM recipient local time). Messages outside this window are queued and delivered when the recipient's local time is within the allowed window.

  • Opt-Out Handling: Recipients can reply STOP to opt out. Opted-out contacts are automatically excluded from future campaigns.

  • Follow-Up Steps: Add follow-up SMS steps to re-engage recipients who haven't clicked the link or submitted a response.

With BlockSurvey Campaigns, you have the flexibility to reach your audience over email or text. Whether you're sending one-time announcements or building automated engagement workflows, Campaigns help you deliver messages efficiently and track audience interaction effectively.
