Creating an anonymous survey in BlockSurvey is easy, allowing you to collect honest feedback without revealing your respondents' identities. This helps keep things private and encourages people to answer freely.
Step-by-step guide to make your survey anonymous.
Once your survey is ready, go to Settings -> Make it Anonymous.
Turn on the Make it Anonymous toggle.
The AI will check your survey for any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). If no PII is found, your survey will be anonymous.
If PII is found, you won’t be able to turn on the anonymous setting.
Publish your survey.
How do respondents know the survey is anonymous?
An "Anonymous Seal" will appear on the survey page, letting respondents know their answers are anonymous.
Note:
IP address, browser, and device information are not collected.
Custom data added to the URL will not be collected.
If accessed through the Tor Browser, extra encryption ensures complete privacy.
What stops a survey from being anonymous?
The AI check blocks anonymity if the survey collects anything that could identify someone, including Email, Phone Number, Website, Country, Contact Form, Payment, Signature, Web3 Identity Verification and Social Identity Verification questions, and questions or descriptions asking for names or other personal details.
Common needs and what to do:
Collect an email for a prize draw: send respondents to a second, non-anonymous survey on submit (Redirect Logic) so the email isn't linked to their answers.
Only let a specific group answer: share the link only with that group.
One response per person: turn on 'Limit submissions to one per user (Browser level)'.
