What is the Expand Grid Option?
The Expand Grid option allows you to expand the Grid in the responses screen for easier reading and analysis. It offers two access levels:
Expand Grid Option Level 1- allows you to show separate columns for each row in a matrix.
Expand Grid Option Level 2- allows you to show separate columns for each of the matrix columns in addition to rows.
Use Case
Consider the use case below of a Product Satisfaction Survey. The matrix question below asks for the level of satisfaction with a product.
By default, the matrix responses for the above are shown in a single cell.
Using ‘Expand Grid Level 1’
In the Responses screen, select More and click Expand Grid Level 1.
Separate Grid Columns are shown for each row in the matrix.
Using ‘Expand Grid Level 2’
In the Responses screen, select More and click Expand Grid Level 2.
Separate Grid Columns are shown for each column in a matrix, in addition to the rows in the matrix.
This feature option allows for easier analysis of matrix responses by presenting the data in a uniform, structured layout.
