How to use the Question Bank feature in BlockSurvey?

Updated this week

What is a Question Bank?

The Question Bank is a centralized library where you can save frequently used questions. Once a question is saved to the bank, you can easily add it to any new survey you are building, eliminating the need to recreate it from scratch.

Steps to add questions to the Question Bank

You can add questions to the Question Bank from two different places: directly from the Design screen or from the Question Bank's detail screen.

Method 1: Saving from the Survey Builder

This is the fastest way to save a new question as you're building a survey.

  1. Select a Question: In the Survey Builder, click on the question you want to save to the bank.

  2. Access the Menu: A dropdown menu will appear.

  3. Save to Question Bank: Select the "Save to Question Bank" option from the menu.

  4. Add Question: The selected question will be opened in the Add Question pop-up. Edit the category or question and click on the Add Question button to save to the Question Bank.

If a Question Bank for your team doesn't exist yet, it will be created at this step. The question will be added to the bank, making it available for future use.

Method 2: Adding a Question from the Question Bank Screen

You can also add new questions directly within the Question Bank's detail screen.

  1. Navigate to Question Bank: From the main dashboard, go to the "Question Bank" section.

  2. Select Your Team: If you have multiple teams, click on the desired team to access its specific Question Bank.

  3. Add Question: On the Question Bank's detail screen, click the "Add Question" button.

  4. Create and Save: You will be able to create a new question with all its properties (question text, type, options, etc.). Once you're finished, save it, and the new question will be stored in your team's Question Bank.

How to use questions from the Question Bank?

Once a question is in your Question Bank, you can add it to any new survey you are creating.

  1. Open the Survey Builder: Go to the survey where you want to add a question.

  2. Import from Question Bank: Click the "Import from Question Bank" button from the dropdown menu.

  3. Choose and Add: A popup will appear showing a list of questions from your team's Question Bank. Select the desired question(s) by checking the box next to them. You can also search for a specific question. Once you've made your selections, click the "Add Questions" to insert them into your current survey.

The Question Bank simplifies the survey creation process by providing a central location to save and manage your questions. Whether you are saving a new question from the builder or adding one from the Question Bank screen, this feature helps you maintain consistency and speed up your workflow for all your surveys.
