How to use Cart and Payment questions in BlockSurvey

Updated over 3 months ago

BlockSurvey’s Cart and Payment questions enable you to collect payments based on the Total Cart Amount, allowing you to handle payments within the same form or survey. These questions are perfect for use cases such as event registrations, product orders, service bookings, or donations.

In this help document, we will guide you through setting up Cart and Payment questions using an example of event registration, where users select tickets and pay for them directly. We will also include a Contact Form question so that you can collect user details for the payment process.

Step-by-Step Guide: Event Registration

  1. Create your survey and add a Contact form question to collect details like Name, Email, Address, and Phone Number. This information will be used later in the payment process for billing and shipping details.

  2. Next add a Cart question, in this example, let’s assume you're selling tickets for an event with different pricing options, such as VIP, Regular, and Student tickets. Each option will have a price, and users can select multiple tickets.

Users will be able to select the quantity for each item. By default, the total amount is calculated and stored under the Total Cart Amount expression in BlockSurvey.

  3. After the cart is set up, add a Payment question to collect the payment for the total cart amount. You can connect your payment method (Stripe) to collect payments.

  4. To get the total amount to be paid from the Cart, in the Payment question enable the Use Expression toggle under the Options tab and select the Total Cart Amount.

  5. Select your preferred currency from the Currency dropdown.

  6. Select the Contact form question from the Billing Address and Shipping Address by doing this you can easily get the respondent's contact information.

  7. After finalizing the setup, click Publish and share the link with your audience. Respondents will now be able to provide their contact details, select tickets, and make a payment all in one streamlined process.

By following these steps, you can easily set up Cart and Payment questions in your forms and surveys, allowing you to collect payments seamlessly.
