How to setup your own domain / custom domain for BlockSurvey?

Setting up your own domain in BlockSurvey helps to have a branded URL of your choice.

Upon creating a form or survey, by default, it would be published on blocksurvey.io URL.

But this can be changed to your own domain like survey.yourdomain.com.

This tutorial walks you through setting up your custom domain.

How to add your custom domain name?

1. log in to your hosting domain provider.
1.1 Don't know who your provider is? DNS hosting provider is the registrar with whom you have registered your domain name.
1.2 You can also use tools like  MX Toolbox's DNS Lookup to find out public information about your domain.
2. In the domain settings section, look for DNS settings.
3. Once you are in the DNS settings, create a CNAME record of your choice that points to links.blocksurvey.io.
3.1 A CNAME record setup tells computers that when someone types in your custom domain, e.g., survey.yourdomain.com, to reach out to BlockSurvey.
3.2 Including a list of DNS providers and how to set up CNAME in it.
4. Wait for the DNS propagation. You can use dnschecker.org to verify.
4.1 Usually takes a few hours to 48 hours. Wait for all regions to point to links.blocksurvey.io.
4.2 If it isn't successful, reach out to us on chat.
5. Then, add your subdomain to ' Custom Domains' in 'Settings.' Screenshot below.
6. On success, the domain gets added.
Now you'll be able to set up your own URL for the forms and surveys created in BlockSurvey from the share screen.
