Learn how to hand over management and billing responsibilities to another team member before leaving an organization or for shared management.
If you are planning to leave an organization or wish to appoint another user to manage the subscription and team settings, you must transfer ownership. This ensures uninterrupted service and administrative control for your team.
Follow these steps to complete the transfer:
Access Global Settings
Log in to your BlockSurvey account. Navigate to the Global Settings (gear icon) on the bottom left of your dashboard. Under the Organization section, select Members.
Upgrade the New Owner’s Role in the Organization.
In the Members tab, you will see a list of all users in your organization.
Locate the user you wish to appoint as the new owner.
Click on their current Role (e.g., Member or Admin).
Select Owner from the dropdown menu.
3. Transfer Ownership Across Teamspaces
To ensure the new owner has full control over all assets, you must also grant them ownership within specific Teamspaces.
Select the specific Teamspace from the left-hand sidebar.
Click on Settings for that team, then go to the Team Members tab.
Locate the user in the list.
Click the Role dropdown (e.g., Admin or Member) and change it to Owner.
Repeat this for all relevant Teamspaces to ensure the new owner has full access to all forms and data.
4. Verify Billing Access
Once a user is promoted to Organization Owner, they will automatically gain access to the Billing & Usage section under Global Settings. They can now:
Update credit card information.
View and download invoices.
Change or cancel subscription plans.
Note:
One Owner Limit: Most organizations typically have one primary billing owner. Ensure the new owner has accepted the role before you downgrade your own permissions or leave the organization.
